Cute friendly place. Mixed bag of peeps, strong drinks, nice patio
Larry's Lounge is a neighborhood bar with pleasant staff and patrons. We especially like it in warmer weather, when we can bring our dog and sit outside. Lots of street traffic that you can watch go by, while you sip a drink.
Nice low key bar. Good drinks at good prices.
Good drinks, cozy (small) bar with good service.
Great people all the time! Luis excellent bartender
Getting drunk without breaking the bank is pretty much foreplay for me. Larry's always gets the job done.
The best neighbor hood bar in town. Great bartender. Friendly atmosphere. Love going there every weekend. Everbody knows almost everbody.
What can I say, that's not already been said about this iconic bar in the heart of Dupont. For more than 17 years, and several transitions, it has remained one of my and my friends favorite neighborhood watering holes to frequent.
This is a great little place that plays great oldies, I can watch the game and bartenders make a stiff drink! Truly a place where I can go and get my thoughts together! On a productive note, I decided to write my thesis with a cocktail and meet a friend of mine who used to work with CNN and I met my future ex-husband.. Lol This is the most eclectic crowd and friendly in DC! #agaycheers
I don't think I could find something negative to say about this place if I tried. Staff are very friendly, the location is perfect and the patio is a wonderful place to sit and people watch in a bustling neighborhood, weather permitting. Sitting at the bar is also cozy and affords a great view of the outside. Drink pours aren't skimpy and even after visiting only once or twice you feel like a regular.
Wednesday Nights will be the BEST !!! A new face behind the bar !!! Perfect !!!
Awesome place not loud so u can talk in there. Great ambiance, relaxing.
Great place to chill, just get there early on the weekends if you want a seat cause the place gets packed! Location is perfect to sit out side and people and dog watch..
Great laid back vibe. Least douchey gay bar in DC.
Fabulous place to meet new fun and exciting people - ask about Ron's special punch. Dogs are always welcome
Okay, so I'm possibly an outlier in my age range for loving this place so much, but I do. There are a few bartenders that have been around as long as I can remember, and always a newbie or two. The crowd is rather quiet, the drinks are rather stiff, and the service, even if they are busy, is kind and attentive. This is a great bar for a date (lower volume music than most gay bars), and particularly good for dog-lovers, as you can often find pooches on the patio when the weather is nice. Prices are on the low-side of DC standard. Not a place for dancing or events, but for a chill night.
Local joint with a mixed (gay/straight male/female old/young) crowd and you can bring your own food or have it delivered because they do not have a kitchen
Went for a friends improve show a few weeks ago. Great bartender!
Came here last November on my first trip to Washington, D.C. , only popped in for a quick drink and ended up staying the night! Great service and friendly staff and regulars , really couldn't have been made more welcome ! Would certainly visit again!
I am a middle-aged straight white lady, not the typical demographic of many of the 18th Street establishments, some of which (you know who you are!) make it all too clear that I am not their target market. Not so Larry's, where I recently spent a lovely spring afternoon after being graciously welcomed by staff and patrons alike to the outdoor patio. Gunther, co-owner and bartender, served me himself (most excellent Moscow Mules, one of those simple drinks that are hard to get exactly right), and it was a perfect end to a very trying week. I love the fact that Larry's is dog- and smoker-friendly, and that it's enough below the madding crowd of upper 18th to hold a conversation if you care to -- esp if, like me, you get there slightly off-hours -- but lively enough to be fun. Highly recommended as a neighborhood asset and oasis!
