It was great food and service. Will definitely go back
The restaurant was recommended to us by a friend who is a picky eater so we thought it may be worth a try. It defiantly was. First time we came it was for breakfast which was delicious. The second time we had lunch and it was as good. Now whenever we pass by Williamsburg we make Food for Though a point of our trip. Already planning to go there again soon.
For me this place is top drawer the fare the service even management all were above excellent i had a Cobb salad topped with grilled porta bella mushrooms very pallet pleasing the vegetables crisp and fresh we were served fresh rolls and corn bread so light and moist for dessert we shared strawberry banana crepe liberal whipped cream big enough for two when you come to this place there may be a line im not a person to wait this place is worth the wait.
Friends from Baltimore came to visit and shop in Williamsburg. Food for Thought was recommended for dinner. Our hostess Barrie was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious, the Manager extremely personable and accommodating, the atmosphere was fantastic. Loved the wordings/quotes on the wall and especially the letters disbursed throughout the restaurant. (THINK). Before entering the restaurant we meet a beautiful couple from Kentucky that were leaving; we chatted a few minutes about the food and some of life circumstances. After dinner, we discovered that this wonderful couple had returned and paid for our meal. We were deeply touched and started to cry by such a beautiful act of kindness to people that we just meet through a brief encounter. Please pray for this great, loving couple. They have experience some darkness, however, that's the only time you can see the magnificent bright stars. THANK YOU so much for your wonderful endearing act of kindness. Forever blessings.
We were at Food for Thought the last week of August during our vacation to the Williamsburg area. The food and service was fantastic (thanks Nathaniel!). Our appetizer and drinks were served to us very quickly, as well as our meals. While we were waiting to be seated, which wasn't very long, the manager came around with a tray of stuffed mushrooms for us to try -- they were delicious! One of the best restaurants I have ever been to EVER! Well done Food for Thought!!
We live in williamsburg and I had never been here, I forget it's there and when I remember it's usually in the "tourist" season and with all the other restaurants in the area I am not willing to wait a hour or more. Tonight we gave it a shot, only had a 5 min wait, yeah. The menu had lots of different choices. The staff was awesome, they all worked together well, we never waited for anything. The food came quickly, which surprised us as the restaurant was full. The portion sizes are larger and a bargin for the price. The manager even came over to check on us. We will be going back for sure.
This was a unique experience. Food was excellent, service even better. Our server Ardit was attentive to our needs, but not overbearing. It was a Friday night, and the restaurant was very busy - obviously a popular spot. We waited about 25 minutes, getting there at 6:15 pm. The restaurant provided a series of cards with questions on them that diners could use to stimulate conversations. This made things more personal for those waiting for their meals to delivered. I noticed that not many patrons were using their smart phones, which I think also speaks well of the restaurant. Really liked it.
My sisters and I were visiting Colonial Williamsburg and checked this place out on TripAdvisor. The reviews were great, and the menu and prices were very appealing. This place did not disappoint! There are so many options on the menu that it was hard to choose, but I had the shrimp and grits. You can choose how spicy you want them, and they were just right. We also shared a bread pudding, and it was wonderful as well. The service was just as good as the food - excellent. The only thing that might have been below my expectations was the noise level. We were seated near the bar and service area, so the overall ambiance was "noisy" but we also had a nearby screaming baby, whose parents did FINALLY take him out of the restaurant. I would highly recommend to others and would go back again if I was in the area.
Visited 3 ,times over my week vacation to Williamsburg. The food is outstanding--fresh and unique. With a diverse menu and reasonable prices, there is truly something for everyone. Good beer and cocktail selection, too! Try the vegetable bisque soup, the coastline blt or the crab cakes---you won't be disappointed.
Think we could eat there daily and never tire of the great food and equally great service! Meatloaf, pot roast, wonderful vegetables, corn bread, bread pudding and nice wine selection are just the beginning! Don't think there's a bad choice to be had! Highly recommend that everyone put this on their to-do list....
We stopped here for dinner. Atmosphere is very cool they have different sayings around the restaurant. I had a salad special and my husband had the Tuna special. Both very good. We are eating healthy and they had no problem switching another vegetable for the carb. Would definitely recommend.
Food was fantastic. Portion size are on the large side. Lunch portions are very filling. Pot roast was very tender. The rolls are addictive. The fruit creepe was large enough to share. Strawberries and bananas very good. Would highly recommend.
Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Thank you for a great night out!
On our vacation we took the majority of our meals out as most people do. Some places are passable, some are forgettable, but very few are stand out - this place is. It is a well oiled machine from the front of the house to the back and everyone is dedicated to giving you a memorable experience. Food was excellent, service attentive, and Anja and Howard were sincerely interested in our dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Wife and I went for lunch. Pot roast was excellent. Spuds and cream spinach was equally good. Second time here in 2 years. One of our favorites. Service is good. I don't give 5 stars easily.
Nice dinner with my wife. Little bit of a wait. Parking always a little challenging. Food delicious, service very friendly. Absolutely recommend for lunch or dinner. Best restaurant in Williamsburg, dollar for dollar.
My wife and I lunched here two days ago, and since the tourist season is over, there was no wait at all. I had the Grandma's Meat Loaf with tomato sauce, my wife had the Fish And Chips--two of our favorites and they were both delicious! As were the rolls and corn bread before our entrees. Angelica, our server, was excellent, as were the other team members who helped us out. It's not often you find a restaurant that serves meatloaf and/or pot roast--they are delicious here. Nice, warm atmosphere here too with friendly service. They deserve their excellent rating!
The food was very good and there was a great variety of food choices (my kids have picky pallets). The games on the table foster a family environment that is great. Service was excellent as well...will come back again!
I was in for a lunch meeting and had the crab cake lunch special. I ordered it with Asparagus and mash potatoes. The Asparagus was cooked to perfection. The crab cake was flavorful and the aioli that came with it was perfect. I will definitely come back here again! Service was also very good.
Amazing as always. Never disappoints. Shrimp Pad Thai is best I've ever had.
