This was an interesting choice for us. I always try Peruvian restaurants and Thai was one of the better ones I’ve tested (still of course very far from lovely homemade Peruvian food). The yuka Frita (fried cassava) was just right. The huancaina was however disappointing (but then as mentioned earlier I’m used to homemade huancaina). The Aji de gallina was good and filling and we got a decent portion size. Service was good. This was a good choice for us in Washington although I would try another Peruvian restaurant to compare.
The appetizers were wonderful! The white fish entree dish was outstanding!!!!
The tradito here was amazing. It comes with three different sauces. The pisco drinks were great and so was their cebiche. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu, but my favourite was the cebiche mixto.
Food was great.
Crevice was great
Went to Nazca Mochica for Valentines Day dinner. Was pleasantly surprised with the cool modern decor of the restaurant and the hip vibe and ambience. The restaurant was busy but not overly crazy and overbooked considering it was prime Valentines dinner time. Dinner was a pre-fixe $65 per person which was well priced for the amount of food and the quality. The cebiche was really good and the fish was very fresh, and they are very generous with the portions. Our server was very friendly and eventhough it was a busy night, made sure she was very attentive. Was a very good night and would definitely come again!
Had dinner at Nazca Mochica last night and it definitely reminds me of meals in Peru. A couple of suggestions -- the shortrib anticuchos for an appetizer, excellent Aji de Gallina (just the right hint of spice) and very good Pescado a lo Macho. lovely little patio for outdoor seating in good weather. Very friendly staff with good recommendations. Well located in Dupont Circle area, but off the busy 17th and 14th street corridors.
The best Peruvian restaurant in DC. I had such a wonderful experience and the amazing cocktails made from scratch by professional bartender. I would recommend to try this place. Peace
Great food and service!!
Great food and great staff. It’s always great when the staff are nice and welcoming.
I visited Nazca Mochica last Tuesday (1/23/18) for DC Restaurant Week. The food was very good! Definably worth visiting. I had the Duo Frio as an appetizer. It was a unique fruity quinoa salad. I had the Arroz Con Moriscos as a main course and it was delicious. It reminded me of paella. The Peruvian cookies included for dessert were delicious. I took one star away because they charged me $6 for sparkling water. That's excessive in my opinion. Also, we interacted with a few members of the wait staff they some were confused or tried to take plates away before we were finished.
Amazing place and tasty food. It was perfect for celebrating my parents anniversary. The atmosphere is great even the entrance is super comfortable. It’s a good place for seafood lovers, although they have one of the most ya steaks I’ve ever had. Great for medium to big parties even though it is most of time packed. Service is good, they are very busy but nice attitude.
It was perfect for celebrating the aniversario of my parents. We had a tasty food, the service was quite good too, and the music perfect! I loved the entrance is a nice and comfortable lobby, we even took some pics there. Overall a great place to tastes the delicious food from Peru. I was just visiting Washington for the first time, so I’d go back whenever I go to visit again.
The Cebiche (ceviche) the Lomos and the Pisco Sours were stellar. Highly recommend. (The lamb was mediocre would not recommend ). Good atmosphere. Music - Miles Davis Kind of Blue - Excellent taste
Well worth the wait!
Excellent service. We loved the ceviche!
Loved everything about this restaurant. Nice vibe. Nice servers. Great food, drinks and desserts. Short walk from Dupont Circle. Very reasonable prices.
On our recent visit to DC our kids took us on this delectable dining adventure. The weather report said it was the coldest evening in decades but we braved it and are we glad we did! Never had Peruvian food before but we really enjoyed the new taste experiences like mine of Lomo Saltado, Causitas and Alfajores! The night we were there the upstairs was closed for renovations but the lower level was handsomely decorated, the service was gracious, and the food was delicious! Our group exchanged gifts during dinner and I accidentally forgot one of mine. The Manager found it and held it for me till we could return. A lovely experience all around...Oh Yes! Let me not forget to mention an excellent wine selection, too. If the altitude affects you and you can't afford the flight..treat yourselv to a dining vacation in Peru at Nazca Mochico!
So good! Food was inventive and delicious. Restaurant is spacious and calm. Service is great.
