Once again the food was outstanding but I’ll have to admit my favorite is the homemade bread pudding!!!! Zach was awesome too!
Went here with my parents and boyfriend for lunch. Our waitress was amazing, and the food was simply superb. They had generous portions, we all left very happy.
Perfect! Great atmosphere for families. The food was delicious and free of antibiotics, hormones, etc. We had a person in our group and she appreciated their gluten free menu and the amazing gf roll they brought out for her. We also have a son that is dairy free, so we were grateful they actually had a vegan and gf torte, it was so GOOD! The prices were fair and everyone in our group of 9 was pleased with their meal. Yum! My husband even tried to convince them to open another in our home town.
What's not to like at this place. Our waiter, Paul, was the best! He recommended dishes and drinks and he was spot on. The hot apple cider drink was delicious. The pot roast was so tender & flavorful and the meatloaf was cooked perfectly. The crusted tilapia was cooked just right and did not taste fishy. My daughter loved the grilled chicken and the other loved the pasta. The desserts were excellent as well. The parmesan rolls and pumpkin corn bread were the BEST. Even the manager came over to make sure everything was perfect. This is a NOT TO MISS PLACE. You will be so full after eating here. Easy drive from Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center or Great Wolf Lodge.
On our first attempt to eat here on a Saturday there was an hour long wait, and it seemed quite noisy so we booked "interest" for the next evening. They do not take reservations but you can get closer to the front of the line by calling or booking your interest ahead. The next evening the place was not busy and we were seated immediately. The service was attentive but not over-bearing. We both had the ribs and they were excellent, although the vegetables were not as hot as one might like. The wine selection was limited but quite acceptable. The service was surprisingly fast. Given the quality of the food the prices were quite reasonable. We would return.
Outstanding. Incredible flavors and very fresh but VERY reasonable prices. All staff was excellent. Parking a little scarce. Decor amazing. Absolute must go
Good food and service.
We had 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners here. In fact, when in Williamsburg it is our main breakfast and dinner restaurant. The best wait staff ever, extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and they bend over backwards with service. Food is to die for, steaks done exactly the way you want them, and the bread pudding is made from croissants and is out of this world. Wonderful omelets, crepes. The entire menu is fantastic.
Superb cooperation for my vegetarian tastes !!
Crab bisque and cornbread. Yum! Hubby had meatloaf, mashed potatoes and broccoli, the latter NOT over cooked. A great place to eat!
My wife and I enjoying coming here. We have never had anything on the menu that we didn't enjoy and the staff is always super. My wife really enjoys that there is no music played so you can sit and enjoy the atmosphere and company you are with.
The food was very good and the service was excellent. The prices were fair. We were seated within 10 minutes of arriving on a weeknight, but when we left, people were waiting outside. My husband had the meatloaf and I had the steak salad. We shared the bread pudding for dessert. The bread pudding is another level. I would return just for that. We will return if we're in the area again.
This place is small from the outside but there is a line outside everyday, the mash potatoes are so good you can eat them by themselves, we took my cousin and his wife there when they visited us. Second review my same relatives came for another visit and and we went there again and was not disappointed the mashed potatoes are still great along with the Meatloaf and Pot Roast, The cornbread taste like gingerbread which really hit the spot. The manager came by our table and we were glad to express our satisfaction with everything, he was pleased and we will return.
Food for Thought is such a wonderful, nice place. It is so unique inside...love, love, love it. And, as an added bonus, the food is delicious. The staff are excellent and very attentive. Second time I have eaten there...last time was a couple of years ago. Both times were GREAT!
What a cool restaurant. Quite crowded at 4:00 on a Sunday. But well worth it. The Parmesan pistachio chicken was great, as well as the scallops wrapped in applewood bacon. The Da Vinci dippers, cheese filled toasted Ravioli. Had to try them since we are from the home of toasted ravioli, St Louis.
Food was great. Had the ribs and also the scallops, they were excellent. Service was very good. Get there early or you will be sitting in a wait line.
Our crew visited mid afternoon on a Sunday. The place was packed, but the advised 30 minute wait went quickly. Once seated we enjoyed reviewing our menus, ordering drinks and our sweet wait staff as we made out R selections. Novia was quite helpful and patient as, being first time customers, we made our selections. The food was quite good, the cards on the table were fun discussion points, and the service was terrific. The soups and salads were plentiful and comforting, as was the meatloaf and sides, the crab cake was mostly crab, the po boy sandwich left not a crumb, and the meatloaf, while thin sliced, was yummy. Deserts were also plentiful with the bread pudding being a favorite. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the quirky and thought provoking sayings on the walls and menues, as well as the laid back atmosphere. Beware though, of the parking lot is full don't park in the adjacent lot, go over and park in the Ripley's lot, least you be towed by the owners in the lot next door. We will definitely return for good comfort food and the delightful atmosphere.
Great food, fun atmosphere, and they even treated my Vet to a free beverage!
I visit Williamsburg every year and have to have at least 1 meal at Food for Thought. Some years it is multiple meals. Had breakfast and dinner yesterday and breakfast today. The food is absolutely delicious. The wait staff and management are attentive and very friendly. The wait can be long at times, but it is well worth it. If you go for breakfast try the grit cakes!!!
