Authentic gumbo that was very good
Loved the Creole Platter & the Bread Pudding was Excellent!!
Spectacular, absolutely amazing. The service was on par with the food. Every dish had a vibrancy that left me impressed.
Had a great time there! Long line, but it worth every minute of it. Very fast service, atmospheric place and delicious food made perfect evening even better
Great staff, good food, cool atmosphere.
The food and Service was very good. We came The bread pudding was not as good as the hot brownie with ice cream now that was delicious!
Good gumbo but an overpriced experience. Gumbo Shop is kind of a tourist trap--be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes in line. The gumbo options were varied and tasted good, but compared to all the other amazing food we tried in the city, I think we could have skipped it.
If you’re ever in New Orleans, the gumbo shop is a definite must stop to eat. We had a waiter by the name of Woody and he was absolutely wonderful! Their bread putting is A delicious way to end the day.
Great food. Waiting was acceptable as we didn't have a table reserved ahead.
Favorite place for shrimp creole! To get the full New Orleans experience, I would recommend the combination plate. The atmosphere can get a bit busy and loud, but the food and service make up for it. :)
The prix-fix option for dinner here was amazing. A four course creole meal for $28, and a nice selection of beer and wine too boot. Each meal course was wonderful and the service was right on.
Jambalaya, seafood gumbo, chicken gumbo, and red beans and rice. All of these dishes were good. The chick gumbo and the red beans stood out for sure! Great service! App of the day was gator sausage/ yummy!
Came here for dinner one night after getting a recommendation to come. We checked to see what lines could be like around the time we would normally choose to eat. Fortunately, we arrived a little before 5, and were seated within 15 minutes. The line just kept growing after we sat down. We ordered seafood gumbo and chicken gumbo to start. They were both very flavorful. The only thing is neither had much seafood or chicken. The seafood only had a couple tiny shrimps, no crab, and the chicken had a very small amount with one small sliver of andouille sausage. For the main dishes, we ordered crawfish and penne pasta, and the combination platter. Both were very tasty. We each ordered a hurricane. If you don’t like pineapple, you won’t like this drink. We ended up buying the gumbo shop cookbook, and I cannot wait to make some of the recipes, especially the gumbo!!
I don't wanna hyped this place up too much but I can't find a complain for it either. The bathroom smell like a gym locker room but that about it.
Food was great
This was the best gumbo I had thus far. The flavors were rich. I decided to get the sampler plate that had two types of gumbo and jambalaya. So glad I did.
Every dish we had was delectable, service was excellent. The line moved quickly and we were thrilled that we went. Pricing is excellent too. Shout out to Brandon, our server, he was tops!
Always so delicious! Their sauces are excellent! Buy some and take home!
