What a great little hole in the wall! It's a little hard to find, but once I got in, I was greeted warmly and felt right at home. Their menu is pretty big, and they have a wide variety of daily specials. I got the gumbo and po-boy special, and both were terrific. I also had the bread pudding, which was really good as well. Awesome food, warm service, and great value. Highly recommended lunch spot!
Good Food & hospitality
Great drink specials
A guy flagged us down saying to give his restuarant a shot and if we didn't see anything we liked he wouldn't be mad if we walked out. We went in and gave it a shot. It was so good. The food tasted authentic. But the real gem is the customer service. I was blown away by great they were! Everyone in there was so friendly and helpful. They even gave us directions and advice on where to go next.
I am shook. At first I was kind of sketched out by this hole in the wall place. To get to the restaurant, you have to walk through this hallway and then the door is at the end. It had a very diner type feel, but much more close. I ordered the catfish with jambalaya and potato salad. I thought this is just going to be mediocre food. So far, the food I have eaten here from more high end places were good, but it did not speak to me. After slowly eating, I realized the food is bomb. This is the New Orleans cuisine is was looking for. The people working there are really kind and it has a super homely feel. The potato salad is creamy and well seasoned. The Jambalaya actually has flavor instead of being a salt bath. The catfish is crunchy and the tartar sauce they provide is unique. I randomly walked in today because some guy on a stool sitting outside the restaurant waved and said try their food. I took this chance and I am glad I did because this was the best lunch I have had since I moved here.
Fantastic home cooked food. Very welcoming and very warm place. You are treated as family. Will be going back!

Great Southern food and hospitality.
Come hear if you want a great true new Orleans experience.
GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! First time I've ever eaten grits without putting sugar on them! The red beans and rice was cooked to perfection, seasoned to the tee and hot like crazy good. My eggs were think and creamy just like I like them! My son LOVED his HUGE pancakes! The syrup in packets are SUPER convenient!!! And the ham was great! We can't wait to go back!
Great original native food from the heart of New Orleans
Hidden gem. Hidden behind a gritty-looking bar, the restaurant is an authentic, no frills, treasure. The staff is friendly and engaging, the food is delicious and cheap. Don’t think cutesy white table clothes here. Think ordering through a window and self serve. I had some of the best cheesy grits with shrimp I’ve ever had. Hobnobbers is unpretentious, great value for money, and the type of place where you could walk in wearing anything and no one would bat an eye or even notice.
Moved in down the street and didn't really feel like cooking breakfast. The pancake breakfast was enough for 2 people to share.
