We stayed for 6 nights in this hotel and we had a lovely time. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very efficient. The consierge was extremely helpful, making restaurant reservations for us and giving us good advice on getting around the city.
Nice, clean, modern rooms right next to Chinatown and easy walking distance to Union Square. We’ve stayed in several San Francisco hotels and this is one of our favorites. Very courteous, helpful hotel staff.
My initial reservation was with Hotel Triton but had to be changed due to construction at the hotel. I was re-booked at the Orchard Garden. That always makes one a little nervous, but I didn't have much of a choice. The folks at Orchard Garden were expecting me and were very friendly when I checked in. They don't have an on-site dinner restaurant or bar, so may want to consider that. Overall, it ended up being a very positive experience. They have small chocolates when you check in - nice touch! Everything worked fine and the location was within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and my business meetings.
San Francisco has the reputation of having overpriced and small rooms. So the stay at Orchard Garden Hotel was a pleasant surprise. The junior suite is large, quiet and has just about everything you'd need to work from your room in between meetings (though I wish they had better lighting in the area where people would usually place their laptops). The breakfast was big, the room service prompt and cheerful and the small bits of chocolate next to the bed added a touch of thoughtfulness. The people at the reception and the imposing gentlemen at the door were invariably courteous and cheerful. The other excellent thing about this hotel is that it is quiet despite being right next to the main entrance of Chinatown, and within walking distance of Union Square and most places in downtown San Francisco. All in all, a place to go back to
I love this hotel!! It was clean, the bed was so comfortable, the staff was incredibly friendly, everything was perfect. The towels were warm and big. They are efficient are respectful of the environment. If you can, check out the rooftop!! It is gorgeous up there.
Hotel was perfectly located for meeting in the Financial District. Room was great. Only issue is the price of Valet Parking, but I guess it is San Francisco after all. Walking distance my meetings. Will stay at the property the next time I am in the city./
Huge bathroom. Very accommodating
I stayed two nights at this beautiful gem of a downtown hotel. The location is right beside Chinatown and very convenient. The staff are all first rate especially the day time concierge. I forgot his name otherwise I would put it in here. The hotel lobby is beautiful and the rooms are huge. Bathrooms are especially big. Would totally stay again and recommend others stay here. Can’t miss with this spot. I would go for the parking package at $55 a day. Nightmare parking anywhere in San Francisco.
This hotel was a really great find. Not only was it affordable (hint: book on their web site using your phone), the room and hotel overall was comfortable, modern, and clean. I was in a superior double. Sure, there really isn't a view but the location is literally a half block from the dragons gate and lots of restaurants and stores. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was roomy with a large vanity. The TV has Chromecast and apps. There is a refrigerator in the room. There are chocolates on your pillow and a fantastic filtered water machine in the hallway of the floor. I was very happy and so was the person I was traveling with; especially when you compare it to more expensive options in the neighborhood.
Walkable to popular places, including Little Italy, the Wharf area, Union Square, theatres, Embarcadero and Gray Line office. Friendly and accommodating front desk staff. Clean comfortable room, and larger than expected bathroom. Relatively close to the Powell Street BART station but not recommended if you have heavy luggage.
At first glance the hotel looks small and sparse but after staying for a week we didn't want to leave. It's clean and elegant at the same time. It's sparse but not empty. The room we had was terrific for our stay and the larger than usual bathroom was a nice touch. We brought lunch back and took it up to the rooftop deck to eat which was great as well. And the idea of having your key turn on the lights and air was odd at first but upon leaving it made it very easy to make sure things were off and as much power was saved as possible. Another "odd quirk" at first pass but one that we really enjoyed in the end. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend to others looking to stay downtown. It even got a call out on our GoCar tour as one of the few LEED buildings in the city. Who knew!
Great service and great location! More like boutique hotel. Quiet room, super comfortable bed. One block from Chinatown and near financial district. Would definitely stay here again! Valet park was lowest in area at $55
Orchard Garden is one of the quietest hotels we've stayed at. Every staff member was courteous and offered suggestions where to have dinner. The rooms are immaculate with Gilchrist & Soames products (a favorite). The beds were so comfy that we slept in every single day--not something we normally do on vacation.
We stayed at the Orchard Garden for three nights over the Labor Day weekend, and we would certainly stay again! This was our first visit to San Francisco and we were a bit overwhelmed by all of the options for hotels/neighborhoods. We chose the Orchard Garden based on reviews and the central location, and we were not disappointed: Chinatown was adjacent and we walked to Union Square, Coit Tower, and the Embarcadero. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite and found the hotel to be clean and quiet. We look forward to returning!
This place is great
We stayed for two nights at the Orchard Garden Hotel. Lovey quiet boutique hotel in the midst of San Fran. Nice rooms, great breakfast and helpful staff. (LEED certified too!) Would def stay there again!
great location next door to Chinatown not a bad walk to fisherman's wharf. Cable car stop just across the street.Breakfast at the french restaurant was excellent.Short walk to union square also hop on hop off buses are there also a pick up on the cornor
This is a very good small hotel. The staff was very helpful. The room was nice size, but no view. Good places to eat, all within walking distance. The gate to Chinatown is just outside the front door. Get on a high floor to avoid the traffic noise.
The Orchad garden hotel is a nice Hotel, just in the Gate to the San Francisco Chinatown and just 5 minutes to the Union Square. Jst in the corner ther is a stop of the Big Bus for sightseeing. Nice and quiet neighborehood.
Our stay at the Orchard Garden Hotel was very enjoyable. The room had great views, was immaculately clean, the bed very comfortable. Every member of the staff was pleasant and extremely helpful. We could not have been more pleased.
