Compared to the other Hotels I've been to in San Francisco, this Hotel is clean and in a very good location. My room price is decent and it included breakfast by their Chef Bella who was so nice to come out in the dining area and greeted us a good morning and made sure we were having a blast with our breakfast and we did! Wonderful stay and great staff!
I stayed with the Orchard Garden recently (January) for work and out of other hotels I have stayed in SF, this one was the best. It is nice and bright and considering the location was not too noisy. The bed was comfy and the room amenities were great. Concierge and Reception were very attentive and I respect the hotel contribution to the environment (I noticed a sign that said for every review they plant a tree!) I really hope I didn't misunderstand that :)
Service and friendliness was beyond excellent. I have stayed in hotels that have cost twice as much and haven't had the level of service, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness that the staff at The Orchard Garden Hotel had on our visit.
The service is good and staff is excellent and helpful.
Rooms were a bit small. Location is good though, adjacent to China Town entrance.
Stayed here for Dreamforce. Everything was great. Quiet night sleep. Nice clean and modern room. Nice location.
Stayed 3 nights at this hotel. Staff are very accommodating and it is close to Union Square and local restaurants. Rooms are a reasonable size with all that us required for a comfortable stay. Be wary however on an upgrade to floor 10, we opted for the upgrade but only stayed 1 night due to the noisev of the air conditioning on the floor above. Breakfast can be included and is quite good. Overall a good place to stay and would stay again.
My sister & I spent a sisters weekend here - my first stay at the Orchard Garden, although we had previously (and happily) stayed at the sister property, the Orchard. We loved it! There was a glitch at check-in, and the front desk (Min Yi) resolved it within 5 minutes. Glitches are what tell you the nature of the staff, and at the Orchard Garden it's A+, happily & professionally dealing with anything that arises. Our rooms were lovely, the location the best in all San Fran, and the beds & pillows heavenly comfortable - among the best sleeps I have ever had in a hotel. I'll be back!
Close to Chinatown and Financial District. TVs in the rooms are really bad. Otherwise, amenities are fine.
This is a med-sized multi-generational family business that is extremely well done. It's attractive in a kind of older style but elegant way; the rooms are well thought-out to facilitate the traveler's needs; it is well-located very near the Chinese Gate Chinatown area (that's a different assessment tourism wise); the staff is very nice and accommodating; and the physical space is SPOTLESS. I will certainly return and do highly recommend.
This is a excellent hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious and the front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel is also ideally located within a short stroll of union square and the unique cable cars to the piers. This hotel was fantastic and we have no negative comments to make. Will definitely be back.
Staff was responsive and helpful, the rooms weren't too small, and were well decorated.
Having had a very good experience in June 2016, we stayed here again for 8 nights while visiting family in the area. Overall, we were very pleased with the room (1003, quiet, perfectly adequate, though small, as well as the very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom), together with the central location (1/2 block from the Chinatown Gate, 5-8 minute walk to BART/Muni, as well as Union Square, SOMA, and many breakfast places. We’re not giving it a 5 because of a rude beginning on check-in. Having traveled all day to get there, the front desk person let us know that they could actually not deliver the breakfast part of the breakfast package we reserved at the OGH ($179/night plus “anything we wanted on the breakfast menu”). She verbally and hurriedly outlined the 4-5 options we had. Since one of the options was a room in the sister hotel 2 blocks down the street, we needed to walk there and look at the actual room in order to decide. We decided to stay at the OGH and get $30/night off the bill) and the front desk person put us in probably the quietest room in the hotel - one of our priorities. What was galling was that it didn’t occur to anyone at OGH to email us ahead of our arrival about the changes - they closed their restaurant from 20-26 December, two days before our arrival, so they certainly knew in advance - or the options we had. In spite of the rough beginning, the stay worked well. Other staff members were friendly and helpful, wi-fi worked well, and the location was great. In retrospect, we were also quite grateful not to have had the breakfast package. It freed us up to try the many other and varied breakfast places within 5-15 minutes walk - and the one time we tried breakfast at OGH, when it re-opened toward the end of our stay, it was not a great value for what we received. [Recommend: Dotties - Market/6th, and Jane’s on Larkin]
Pretty nice hotel with pretty friendly staff. It does not really have a gym that one could call a gym unless a treadmill is all you need. Also for a 4 star hotel, the tv in the rooms need an upgrade - what they have i would have given away on Freecycle
Very clean. Shower needed more water pressure.
My stay at the Orchard Garden Hotel was great. I really enjoyed myself and thought the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I also found the facility to be clean, nice and fairly quite - which is precisely what I wanted!
My new preferred choice for San Francisco/Union Square area. Stayed in a few hotels nearby, this is by far best to my liking. I prefer modern, elegant hotels. This one is all of that plus takes care for the environment (‚Green hotel‘). Room was spacious and clean and well equipped. Location is very good, a lot of attractions nearby. Free WiFi, a free bottle of water for welcome and some sweets - small things which can make a difference. And all for a very reasonable price despite holiday season.
We stayed four nights across mid December. Carrie went out of her way to make sure we were entertained and comfortable, she is a great ambassador for the hotel and the city, a huge asset to the team! The hotel is well positioned for Union Square and Chinatown, a great spot for the shoppers.
+ Inspiring Eco Practices + Safe and Convenient Location -- Right by the gate of Chinatown and close to union square + Very clean and well maintained guest rooms and bathrooms + Reasonable Priced considering other SF hotels in the same vicinity - Tiny gym and equipment not very good
