We ususally go for lunch and we have a favorite server, who is amazing. Ask for Ruby when you get there. The selection on the menu is good and the lunch specials vary. Seafood is fresh and they do have burgers for the non-seafood people. This is one of our favorite places on the island. Lots of easy parking. Dinner and weekends get quite full.
Hometown restaurant and bar. Great staff. Great steaks. AJ' is located on Ell Creek " AJ' 0n the Creek" has nice out door dinning, open up for our great fresh air or clsed in for the cooler days.
We had tried several seafood places on the island & were totally disappointed. We overheard a family at breakfast saying that they wanted to go back to AJ’s for their last night on the island so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! The salads were crisp & tasty. The apps were delicious & just enough. Our meals were plentiful & full of flavor. The bread was warm & perfectly baked. Our waitress Alexis was sweet, helpful & made sure we didn’t run out of drinks or need anything else without hovering. Will definitely be back!!
Excellent food and service!!
This was some of the best fresh seafood I have had in a long time! Service was awesome and fast. Any of the fresh specials of the day are amazing. Will definitely be back!
Ajs has been one of my favorite restaurants for about 20 years now. My husband also proposed to me on valentine's day there 13 years ago. Tonight I was here on vacation so I went in for carryout and got seafood scampi and the scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly. I highly recommend everyone try it.
Good food and good service.
Best softshells and oysters rockefeller! Lisa was such a wonderful hostess and saved a table on the creek for us. Linsdey was our server and she was so friendly! Thanks!
Food is great..service too...only problem was seating 3 adults with 2 small kids at a high top table....but we didnt have a reservation...it worked
Food and service was exceptional. Great live jazz too. We had calamari appetizer, a cream soup, salmon special, soft shelled crabs and smothered(with seafood) flounder. We were so busy savoring our dinners that all conversation halted. Wish we lived closer to this restaurant- we would move in!
We really just stopped in for a few drinks but decided to stay for dinner. We sat at the bar and our bartender Zivvie (sorry name maybe spelled wrong) was great. She ended up having a 12 top and still made sure that we ( and everyone else at bar) were taken care of. In fact all of the staff we encountered were very nice. We sat next to some locals who were helpful with stories and some tips on the town. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the crab cake and oysters. Both were extremely good with perfect breading. The crab cakes had a good amount of crab in them and not just filler. We will definitely come back!
Great food, drinks and atmosphere. Price was great as well. Fresh shrimp lunch entree was very good. Glad we ended up here!!
Wonderful wait staff, ambiance and overall dining experience. Both of our dinners were excellent. We stopped at the height of dinner & were seated promptly
Great service, excellent food! They serve the best bread - french type baguette, yummy! We had fish, oysters and clams.
We tried Bill’s and will not go back ever. AJ’s is by far much better, good prices, good food, excellent service with human touch. Everyone in my family enjoyed their orders. Service was fast by a very friendly lady. I heard dinners are fantastic, we will definitely stop by next time.
Got a tip from a local that AJ's and Bill's are the top two food joints on the island. Bill's usually requires a reservation so we opted for an early dinner at AJ's. Great food, music (piano bar), highly recommend.
My wife and I have eaten at AJ's On the Creek twice, and we were very pleased both times. The service was excellent. The wait staff was personable without being intrusive, and the food was excellent. The menu offers plenty of options, including vegetarian plates. We will go for a third time when we get back to Chincoteague.
Great service and complentary bread, acomadate for a lot of special requests
I rarely eat out when camping in Chincoteague but I wanted seafood. Had been to AJs with my wife some years ago for lunch and had a good experience so I went for dinner. My server, Ken was friendly, well informed about the menu offerings and made good recommendations. I ordered six Chincoteague oysters on the half shell. They were large and plump and salty, perfect local oysters. For the main course I chose the Seafood Bouillabaisse which came with salad and baked potatoe. The artichoke vinegarette dressing Ken suggested was a pleasant change. The Bouillabaisse was delicious. Large sea scallops, mussels, shrimp, oysters and fresh crabmeat in a tomato garlic broth. There were so many other appetizers and main courses that choosing wasn't easy. Prices are fair and you don't leave the table hungry. If you come to the shore, you should enjoy a relaxing, casual atmosphere.when you dine out. You'll find it at AJs!
