Very good food and very good service.
The service and food was outstanding. The chicken Param was tender and not overly breaded. The accompanying spaghetti was perfectly cooked with a delicious tomato sauce. The fettuccine al ragu was also a perfect blend. The service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant was not busy this evening so luckily no reservations were needed. Definitely would return when in the area again.
My wife and I finally ate dinner at Sergio -- while staying at the Homewood Suites across the street (having sworn off the Doubletree after one too many terrible experiences there). I admit to having a bit of a chip on my shoulder: Sergio offers neither delivery, nor takeout -- their choice, but expressed to those asking (like Doubletree guests) in a manner that's not just gruff, but which insures bad feelings on the part of those who have the gall to ask. They were on my "don't bother" list for the last six months. So, after placing a reservation for 8 pm one Sunday night, I was a bit apprehensive. Regulars -- and most diners appeared to be -- got hugs and kisses from staff. My wife and I were seated at a big table for four with no place settings in a half-full room -- by the same stone-faced senior (the Luigi whom reviewers say is so warm and friendly?) who brushed me off a while back by saying that they don't do take-out because they have no utensils. A young busboy soon gave us napkins and place settings, while apologizing. A friendly and wonderful waiter soon got us in a good mood, and my wife ordered the special Branzino filet, while I ordered the house-made Fettuccine ai Frutti di Mare ($17.00) in a sauce of shrimp, squid, mussels, white wine, garlic and tomato. The pasta was less al dente than I like, but otherwise this signature dish justified the restaurant's reputation. My wife's fish was terrific. Both entrees came with salad -- just so -so. Salads are not on the menu here, and the disinterest shows. A bottle of Sangiovese was inexpensive and very enjoyable. The most memorable part of the meal for me? The Italian ice cream: lemoncello and chocolate were both wonderful. Best Italian in Silver Spring, for sure, and, with a bill for $86, a great value.
Sergio's is a quiet neighborhood gem...a hidden treasure, indeed. The food is great and authentically prepared. The service is great and every time I come, I'm greeted by the owner. The restaurant is tucked away in the lower level of the hotel. It's worth searching for.
Excellent restaurant. Great food, terrific service. Sergio always walks around greeting and thanking his customers. Don't get there often but Sergio's is s must stop whenever we are in town. Recommend this to everyone who enjoys great food in an old world charming place. Luv Sergio,
One of my favorite restaurants! Food is always good. Service seems to be not as good as in the past. But I keep coming back for the food. Their tiramisu is unique, and the best I have tasted anywhere!
Cozy, excellent food and service, reasonably priced
Liked the food, although more pricey than I am used to. But the service and the elegance was excellent.
Sergio's is one of the very few authentic Italian restaurants in the DC area and one of the few places were I would bring out-of-town guests. It's a family run business, offering a wonderful selection of dishes, including homemade pasta (ravioli) and homemade tiramisu. The food is simply delicious, and it is made with fresh and simple ingredients (the Italian way). I have been there many times, including several New Year's Eves, and I have never been disappointed. I only wish portions of ravioli dishes were a little more generous!
We came here for a 50th birthday party and it was a great space for lots of people. You have a private area, but not completely closed off from the restaurant so there is a good atmosphere. The food was delicious - great canapes that felt like a full meal. Lovely place to celebrate.
While staying at the Double Tree by Hilton in Silver Spring Maryland, myself and 3 colleagues had dinner at Sergios Ristorante which is located inside the hotel. The atmosphere was quiet and semi-formal. Our server Luigi was personable and attentive. He allowed us time to decide on what cocktails to order and later answered questions we had about items on the dinner menu. Our meals were delicious and again kudos to Luigi for his stellar service!!
Just had an amazing dinner with my father here! Pasta was so delicate, and the sauces just superb. Luigi was very attentive and a pleasure. I'll be back.
Service and food was impeccable, we will definitely be back in the future. I had the Rollata Della Nonna, and it was the best pasta I've ever had. Listen to the waiters suggestions, they will not steer you wrong.
I almost turned around and went else where when I saw that it was part of a hotel (by rule, I don't eat at hotel restaurants). Glad I stayed - good comfort Italian food. My veal was well prepared (not over done). My father's manicotti was equally well prepared.
Fantastic food. Great prices. It's a gem.
The best.best service n food. Ive eaten in Rome too!
Fantastic food from the chicken wings to the steak A1
Excellent meal, good value, great vibe.
We dine at Sergio's several times a year. Our October 2017 showed that the food and service continue to be top notch.we were a group of five on a Friday evening and were fortunate enough to snag one of the two small private dining rooms. The cozy accommodations allowed for a free and open discussion without fear of eavesdropping. The house made pasta was superb. We have never had a bad meal.
