Friendly staff, clean facilities, and great service and scheduling
I have been using V.C.A.H. for many years. I have only good things to say about the facility and all the staff members I have dealt with. Very professional and caring people.
So grateful I found this clinic. Yesterday (a Sunday) my dog was showing symptoms that needed immediate attention. The reviews for the 24/7 clinic closest to me (I live in the Bronx) were terrible and so I widened my search. The extra 15 minutes of travel/crossing the Tap were absolutely worth it. The staff at Valley Cottage are excellent and I love that it's a regular vet office, vs an emergency room-like setting (since those places make me more tense/feel more dire). The second-best part of my experience was when I checked out, bc the bill was way less than I expected. Given that it was after 5pm on a Sunday I thought I'd be seeing a charge of $250+, even though it was just a consult and some meds. Instead it was under $150. I love these guys and they will be my regular vet from now on.
We LOVE Valley Cottage Animal Hospital! They are always so gentle and considerate of the pets - so much so that our chocolate lab loves to go to the vet! The ongoing care from them is exceptional. The vets at Valley Cottage have helped us through several emergencies: three cat emergencies, one dog emergency. I would not consider going anywhere else for my animals' care. And knowing that you can call them or visit them at any time, day or night, gives us tremendous peace of mind.
My experience at VCAH is always great, kind staff, efficient service.
Amazing service and knowledgeable doctors. All staff are compassionate and friendly. Highly recommend!!
Not is any way, from our perspective. Dr. Collins is wonderful. She has always offered the best of care. She is compassionate and responsive, and has always returned our calls.
The staff at this hospital are beyond reproach. A class operation. I wish I could get personal medical attention as good. Pricey? Yes, but worth every penny. Pure empathetic, professionals. Their claim of being in the Top 4 in the US, is undoubtedly deserved.
Clinic is clean, staff was friendly, doctor informative and liked the follow-up call
VCAH is hands down the BEST animal hospital in Rockland County. Growing up, my family took our pets here and even as a kid, I remember it being wonderful. I have an almost 2 year old Mini Aussie named Folly. He is like my furry child; he means everything that me! I come all the way from Brooklyn to bring him to VCAH because they are so great. The vets are all very knowledgeable and kind. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. It’s just such a nice vibe/atmosphere. They are sooo great with my dog Folly, and he adores the vets there. He literally gets excited going in to VCAH! Today we went for a checkup and shots and he literally walked into the office with his tail wagging and everything. Also, VCAH is extremely wonderful with emergency situations. They are all so compassionate and kind; you can tell everyone who works there truly loves animals. I highly recommend bringing your pets here.
I give 5 stars because I don't believe one bad apple should spoil on a whole. There are a few outstanding incidents that I have dealt with. It was only with one female doctor over the years. I am not alone in that there are negative feelings towards this one doctor. Several "patients" and a couple of employees have confirmed the same. I don't believe this doctor would harm an animal but, she does make you feel uncomfortable. She's very rude and negative and you will pick up on that easily. I believe animals sense negativity as well and is all the more reason I won't bring my pets to her any longer. ---- There were a couple of times in the past where this hospital let me go on a payment plan. I appreciated this very much. I understand when people say they are expensive. I think all are. They need to get paid so they can continue to care for our pets. I understand it may seem that they might be more interested in money than the animals but, that is a tough call. If that is the case aren't human doctors like that? Either way, I have been going to this animal hospital for many, many years. They do care and I feel most of them really give their all. There is an animal hospital within walking distance to where I live but, I still choose to take the half hour drive to Valley Cottage.
Thank you for taking care of our jack
We would not consider using any other Vet care for our dogs. Valley Cottage Animal Hospital is professional, appointments are on-time, and the staff and doctors are very "animal-oriented" and "animal-friendly"! They are pretty great to the human companions, too! Love them!
I can only speak about the emergency, after-hours services, as they are not my local vet. I called on the way, and they were ready for me on arrival, polite and prompt in their diagnosis and testing, and (given the circumstances) fair and transparent about costs. I had heard many horror stories about emergency vet experiences, and they exceeded my expectations on every level.
All the vets at Valley Cottage are competent, professional and friendly. The receptionists who take care of you when you walk in are NOT also answering calls which allows them to give you their full attention. Valley Cottage animal hospital is open 24-7 for emergencies so if you go there for check ups you are already familiar with the place when you have an emergency. I have been going to VC animal hospital for 12 years with 2 generations of pets.
Every part of my experience from scheduling, exaime to check out was seamless !
Gracie Loves Dr. Collins
Awesome experience as always with Valley Cottage Animal Hospital and Dr. Downing. This past week, we brought in our new Pug puppy Milo, and the care was so professional. The doctor and staff were caring and so informative. We have been with VCAH (and the wonderful Dr. Collins and Dr. Downing) for over 20 years now and would never go anywhere else!
There's no better than Valley Cottage Animal Hospital to care for your pets. All of the Dr's there are excellent at what they do, extremely compassionate and caring, and always do what is best for your Pet. Dr. Tortorice has cared for our dog Cali for a few years now and Cali loves her! She is never afraid to see Dr. Tortorice and is always happy to see her which is a very good sign. Recently Dr. Livingston cared for Cali while Dr Tortorice was away and Dr. Livingston was so terrific! I wish my own Dr. had as much compassion as these Drs. have for our dog Cali. I would give Valley Cottage Animal Hospital 10 stars... the VERY best! If you want to do what is best for your pets, go to Valley Cottage Animal Hospital! Phyllis and David Calianese
The absolute best animal hospital I had ever been to! I travel from NJ to use them and it’s totally worth the drive. Besides the convenience that it’s a 24 hour hospital- the doctors are fantastic and willing to explain everything. I have three senior dogs and they have been great with all three. The reception staff is also super friendly and warm- it always surprises me that they even remember my name when I walk in. Completely recommend them!
