Great food, well priced, and fantastic staff.
Went here about a week ago based on a friend's recommendation and we were amazed! Everything we got was fantastic and our server, Brandy, was knowledgable, friendly helpful.
Went here twice in one weekend recently with two different sets of friends. The food is just simply outstanding. On Sunday afternoon we went at 4 pm and with priority call ahead seating were seated immediately. By the time we finished dinner and left, the parking lot was full and there were many, many people waiting inside and out for tables. It's popularity is noteworthy because the food is just amazing. Interesting flavors, cooked well and never disappointing. Something for everyone. One set of friends last week had the signature vegetable bisque which is an amazingly flavorful soup, the Pot Roast, Beet Salad and the Shrimp Boat which was one of the best restaurant dishes EVER ! The other set had the Pot Roast and the Shrimp and Grits. The Pot Roast was described as excellent both times. The Shrimp and Grits (me) thought they were very good but the peppers could have been diced much much finer and not in big chunks. The flavor was however very worth it. It was a large portion too so half went home and reheated well. Visit friends in Williamsburg often and this is one of their favorite places and has become a "Must Stop" place for us whether with or without our local friends.
Typical. Nothing stood out. Oyster plate was very good. Lime chicken was bland and chicken over processed consistency.
Always a great experience!
Great food, attentive staff, and a creative chef made this one of our favorites. We liked it so much the first time, that we went back for dinner the next night. Ended up having the same waiter who remembered us and our daughter’s food allergy and put in the order for her flatbread (instead of our breadbasket) as soon as we were seated!
Great restaurant. Homemade favorites and great atmosphere. Tiny parking lot and always full so plan ahead. No reservations taken so be ready for a wait... but it is worth it. Excellent food — homemade cornbread and rolls are excellent. Appetizers are all great, beet salad is fresh, crab cakes are the best. Nut crusted chicken, pot roast and fish and chips are excellent. Would never skip this place if I came back to town... a must visit!!
This was our first visit to Food For Thought for lunch. Everyone including a nine year-old was very happy with our meals. Our server was very accommodating and helpful in describing dishes on the lunch menu. My husband and I were disappointed that flounder is no longer on the menu. This has always been our favorite; however, we were happy with the meatloaf and sides on the lunch menu. The bread was delicious as always. Portions are more than plentiful. Both the regular menu and child's menu offer something that is sure to please everyone.
This place has the feel of a beach eatery during spring break...noisy and busy. Bar choices lean toward "beach type" drinks and the menu goes into great length to explain their veggie, no-hormone, no antibiotic, gluten-free food selections. A bit over the top in their effort to be progressive and attuned to the millennial mindset of "safe" food for the body and environment. However, with all that said, you can choose from chicken, seafood, beef, pork or a variety of salads. We had the pot roast dinner and the California BLT (BLT w/ avocado) and they were both very good. Fries are "skinny" like Steak n' Shake fries.
Fabulous food with attentive wait staff. Interesting atmosphere.
Awesome food will be going back again
Great food with great service.
First and foremost, I do not remember the name of our waiter. Her name was Ellen, Elena or Elane; I apologize for not remembering, but I will just call her Ms. E for now. Ms. E was a diligent waiter to our table. I greatly appreciated her questioning our table for any allergies; which I have for soy related products. Ms. E was kind and knowledgeable as can be of foods on the menu that may or may not contain soy. She was even nice enough to ask the kitchen for clarification. Her smile, professionalism, and personality helped to make our anniversary dinner a very pleasant one. THANK YOU MS. E!
Excellent atmosphere, awesome food! Beignets and fresh squeezed carrot juice great novelty.
Bon restaurant sans touristes. Cuisine américaine type. Carte variée et nourriture bonne. Les plats sont copieux. Adresse à retenir, bon rapport qualité prix dans la fourchette moyenne.
An amazing place to eat with terrific customer service. Whenever we have people come in town we always take them to Food for Thought. The menu is diverse and has something for everyone.
Tout à fait d’accord avec les avis qui m’ont poussée à aller manger à Food for Thought. C’est bon, le cadre est sympa et les citations qui ornent les murs donnent à réfléchir. Ambiance typiquement américaine.
A wide selection of choices. One our party got the Spaghetti Squash. It was probably the best she has ever had. I chose to have a salad and was very pleased with the freshness and taste. Our server Darrel was very attentive and polite. Will definitely be going back next time we are in town. A There were alot of choices in the area, and this one is near the top of the list.
Super busy but yummy!! Good quality food, the rolls were soft and warm.
Fun interior, lots of vegetarian options. Very good food.
