Delicious! Great service!
We drive 45min to get here and it is always worth the trip. The shrimp and grits is one amazing dish. This is my wife's favorite Sunday lunch. Staff is friendly and the beer selection is good.
My daughter has been dealing with food allergies for the past 2 years and it's been a rough experience trying to find able places to compensate for her and when I came across Food for Thought and surprised her with it she was overjoyed. They have a wonderful selection of gluten free foods and vegan foods alike. Highly recommend.
I always enjoy eating there! The food is great, especially the Thai One On! The food and a very friendly atmosphere make this my favorite place to eat in Williamsburv!
The owner was extremely nice, FAST service and too top it all off the food was unbelievably good!!
Loved this place
Food is always excellent. Service is always great.
Our family ate dinner here while on vacation in Williamsburg. What was great about this restaurant was that it wasn't a typical tourist restaurant. It seemed like a lot of locals were eating here, and I can understand why. The food was fantastic. The menu had a nice variety to choose from, and the portion sizes were big. Our waiter was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall this is a great dining experience.
Plan on having a wait and the parking is scare so you may have to park elsewhere. Watch for signs for tow-away zones. Food was what you expect with Pot Roast, Meat Loaf and other American Family Favorites. Service was great.
Love their breakfast menu!
Try the Nutty Chicken!
Great food. We had the filet and the Thai dish, and they were both delicious, along with the bread and the DaVinci dippers we had for an appetizer. The server and his trainee were attentive, and the manager came to check on us. The signage was informative in the lot about where to park for overflow parking. Definitely will come back if we're in the area again!
Good food for the .one, fast service.
Very quiet, cozy, food is so good and the staff is very professional and polite, I really felt welcome there.
It is very easy to post negative reviews. Unfortunately, patrons do not take the time to post positive reviews. It may be a few days late, but very deserving of this review Having worked in the industry off and on for 20 years, recognize it is a nightmare for the server that gets our table. Family member #1 is frugal, cannot have chocolate, or peanuts. Family member #2 shouldn’t have fried food, citrus, or high fat meats, and hates seafood. Family member #3 has Celiac. Gluten free menu options is not an option or a fad diet, it is a must for someone with this auto-immune disease. Family Member #4 Does not eat red meat, is lactose intolerant, and an intolerance for soy protein isolate (but soy lecithin is okay). Our server went above and beyond to not only making recommendations, but making sure all of our needs were met. He came back several times to confirm menu options were okay or a concern. As if our table wasn’t bad enough, I couldn’t help overhearing the table behind us was vegan and the table across from us was also gluten free. I am thankful for restaurants that are accommodating. I have worked for and patronized restaurants that grunt and curse anyone trying to stray from the menu as is. The teamwork was visible as well. The expeditors ran most of the food, allowing servers to attend to guests needs The managers were visible assisting with guests needs and building rapport with patrons. Also noticeable were the servers that assisted with tables in other sections so that the diner had a great experience, as apprised to being self centered and doing nothing while another server is “in the weeds”. Family member 1 and 2 had meatloaf, #3 had the mushroom/ eggplant stack and #4 had the tuna with pineapple salsa.
This restaurant is very popular, with a long wait. They don't take reservations, but they have call ahead seating. We noticed the servers squat down to talk to you, so they're not standing over you looking down at you. Our server was very nice, took time to explain some things. We loved the interior, with quotes written on the walls, "food for thought".
Excellent good and service. Interesting decor: library meets museum meets US Constitution. Try the Grits and Red Shrimp or the Pot Roast. Need to get their recipe for sweet potato cornbread. Kudos to our server Megs. She was super.
Amazing food and service. Down to earth Home-style cooking at its best. The pot roast w/mashed potatoes and creamed spinach was awesome. Kids menu was extensive as well.
Great experience all around. Atmosphere was pleasant and thought provoking. Every member of staff that we interacted with went above and beyond to be helpful and polite. We had a member in our party that has several allergies and one of the first questions our server asked after introductions was about allergies. Attention was then given to ensure that person had all their dietary needs were met safely And above all their were no leftovers because everything we order was that good. A lot of sharing was done and there was no clear winner in what was the best, it all was top notch!! Will definitely visit again, and again.
This place is a gem. But dint po ark next door. lol Great food, fabulous services and excellent location.
