Snow crab and brussel sprouts are amazing! Toni, our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable. She made the visit easy and fun as we had never been before.
Visited Brotula's for dinner with a small group of business associates, and all I can say is WOW! I rarely rate restaurants with 5 stars as there is usually always something an establishment can work on, but in the case of Brotula's, they have all phases of a meal figured out. Starting with the food, we had fried pickles, pretzels, and oysters (garlic and jam styles) for starters. All were very tasty and cooked correctly. The entrees were another great win. This evening they were offering a grouper special that was absolutely fantastic. Cooked perfectly, great portions, and fine attention to detail all equaled a wonderful dish. The sides that included greens, cheesy grits, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, and others, were again, cooked just right. The taste was right on point and the presentation was perfect as well. Lastly the dessert. A Cinnamon bread pudding, in addition to key lime pie, were both extremely good. I would rate the starters and entrees with a 10 and the desserts with a 8. Our server was Bre, and she did a nice job of ensuring we all had what we needed without being overly present. She has been at Brotula's for about 3 years and spoke very highly of the company and her work mates. Even with Bre's great service, we received a visit from 2 additional Managers/General Managers ensuring we were completely satisfied. This is a great touch, and something that other establishments could learn from. In a town with many seafood and steamer options, Brotula's is a clear cut winner! A great environment, phenomenal service, and outstanding food all equal a very memorable and favorable experience. I can't wait to go back!
ATL on the shore! My husband and I decided to have late lunch here over Valentine's weekend. We held out Wedding Rehearsal dinner on the very same dock months ago. They view was stunning, Happy Hour was Awesome and the food remains delicious! John, was our server and he highlighted our dining experience. If you are looking for the local seafood spot with quality food, service, and views, Brotulas is it!!
The shrimp po’ boy was so tasty, especially the shrimp - crispy but not over fried. The sides of cheese grits and Brussels sprouts were both outstanding! The sprouts were tender and well seasoned. The tuna appetizer was also delish! Excellent food, excellent service. Even the manager had time to chat for a bit. Good beer selections also! We highly recommend it. Wish I knew how to pronounce it! Maybe they should have the waiters say “Welcome to Brotulas†and then we would know how to spread the word! Charming atmosphere also.
It was fantastic
Delicious food, great innovative drinks, and the most wonderful service. Ask for Kristin.
Jon our waiter was knowledgeable of the area and very on top of,our needs, food was good, we sat outside and the view was spectacular!
Staff was very friendly. Ladies ordered fish tacos grilled and blackened. I order Cajun Shrimp and Grits . I don't eat onions , chef came out and talked to me personally and made a sauce from scratch that was onion free. Flavor was out of this world. Highly recommend this place 1 million out of 1 million . View was great sit out on the deck fantastic view
We went for Valentine's day dinner. It was just great. The special was two suppers ,either filet or grouper. So we had one of each! Surf and turf. Excellent! Best we had in Destin so far. Great service from Alex! A very enjoyable evening.
My husband and I ate here for Valentine’s dinner, it was an awesome meal! I don’t usually leave reviews, but it was so delicious and the service top of the line. Jon was our waiter and he went out of his way to make our dinner a wonderful experience. So if you are looking for seafood that will knock your socks off, you need to try the blackened red snapper or the grouper. We are going back Saturday to get all you can eat snow crab legs and I am excited about it already!!! Thanks Jon! This is truly a five star restaurantâï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸💫
We stopped in for just drinks and maybe an appetizer. Our group was 4 adults and 2 kids. We just happened to stop on a night when they had buy 1 get 1 free entrees. There was only a select few entrees, but we managed to find 2. We ended up with the shrimp and grits along with the chicken entree. Both were amazing. The shrimp and grits were out of this world. The chicken dish was full of flavor and it fed 1 adult along with both children. We also had a bowl of gumbo along with a mussel appetizer. The mussels were not fishy and had a great sauce. So great that we were dipping bread in the sauce. Now for the service. Our server was wonderful. He was very attentive and was full of energy. He knew that our original plan was just for drinks and he never looked down on us for that. He had great suggestions for food and was quick with the drink refills. He made us feel very welcomed and accommodated all of our many needs. We would come back here during our next visit.
Came in on Tuesday with my husband and it was warm enough to sit out on their deck. The view of the water was beautiful. Our server Carrie was a delight and was very knowledgeable of the menu. We enjoyed he gumbo and my husband loved the meatloaf. Will be back our next time in Destin!
Earlier in the day the family went on a fishing charter. We brought some of our catch in for dinner. We were able to select how we wanted the fish prepared, and the side items. The meal arrived "family style" and was about the best fish dinner any of us had ever had. The service was impeccable, and our server, Kristin was friendly and accommodating. If we lived in Destin, we would be regulars.
Great food and atmosphere.
As a steamer place is good. Or as a cook your catch place it’s good. Other than that all other items our group ordered were greasy and overly seasoned. That being said the steamer buckets are on point!
This place is amazing! I came to visit Destin for the weekend to get away from my school responsibilities. I found Brotulas yesterday driving by and decided to stop by to sit on the back deck to work on homework. When I walked in I was greeted by the bartender Kristin and that was it, no back deck for me, I am sitting at the bar doing my homework with he! She was so pleasant and extremely great to talk to. I enjoying talking to her, she even gave me needed advise for my nursing paper, while drinking bottomless mimosas! What more would you want? The manager on duty, Taylor, was also amazing! She constantly checked on me to make sure my drink and tummy was filled, all while checking on the entire restaurant that was full. They made sure I was enjoying my time! I highly suggest this place for Calamari and shrimp, I have been here 3 times for food in the last 24 hours! I can't say any more great things about this place, definitely come in and sit with Kristin at the bar and chit chat with Taylor the manager and you will be coming back the next day!
As a local there aren’t many restaurants I haven’t eaten at in 24 years. This was only my second time at Brotulas and I decided to try their brunch. I was very impressed with the “crab cake Benny†and the “harbor breakfastâ€. The cheese grits were cooked perfectly and the crab cake was amazing! Toni(gale) our server was very tentative and helpful. The manger( Taylor) made rounds periodically and asked if anything could be done or if anyone needed anything. Even the hostess, Maddie was walking around cleaning off tables and asking if we needed anything. And to top everything off they have captains discounts for us local fisherman! By far one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.
Had the best experience at Brotula’s! Food and atmosphere was amazing! Our server Jon was easy to talk to and a pleasure to be served by! Would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to the area!
It was a chilly evening so we wandered down Destin Harbor and popped into Brotula's for Happy Hour and an early dinner. Because of the colder weather we sat inside at the bar and were graciously welcomed by Kristin who was the perfect host to all of the food and specials at this warm and welcoming restaurant on the water. Their specialty are "Seafood Boils" vs fried seafood, although you can get that too. We also had a few of their amazing appetizers such as the Tuna Dip, Mussels, and Garlic Bread. I wish it was warmer so we could have sat outside but Kristin more than made up for that and all-in-all it was a great experience. Great alternative to the other harbor side restaurants.
Wow! We went for dinner tonight and it was delicious. Our server Kohlbe was fabulous! He was attentive kind and had very friendly personality. The fish tacos were excellent! So yummy! This was a wonderful night and we will be back soon!
