Great meal. The service was exceptional and most of the meal followed suit. The tenderloin with fg my daughter ordered was cooked perfectly and delighted, as did the short rib pasta my wife had. The downside were the two "wagyu" beef selections including my steak which were NOT of expected quality in any respect. Overall still well worth the visit.
My girlfriend and I came in after the gentleman whom had given this restaurant a 1-Star review last night - which, in all fairness and honesty, is remarkably inaccurate. We were late for our 6:45pm reservation, so we called ahead and they made proper accommodations to see us once we arrived. We were immediately seated at a central table, which amplified the ambiance. We found so much joy in hearing the crisp melodies played on their live piano. Edwin, our waiter, introduced himself pleasantly and remarked on his experience working at BICE. Nearly 16 years of quality service, and it showed. We asked for his suggestions and preferences in meals - we were both blown away by the depth of his knowledge, accommodating character, and expert suggestions. During service, Edwin was in top form. Together, the three of us built an amazing dinner with his expertise: I enjoyed an Inobili veneto merlot which paired incredibly with each part of our meal. We decided to take one of Edwin’s suggestions to share meals, which only made the experience more fun! During dinner we also received remarkable, attentive service from Alan who brought our meals to us and Jay who took care of our finished plates and brought us more fresh bread. Prior to dessert, we were visited by the General Manager, Emilio. Gracious, attentive to detail, and passionate - you could easily see why this restaurant is one of nigh-unmatched quality in my experience. Unbeknownst to him, I had kept my eye on everyone’s behavior and demeanor with other guests, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. He is a true leader who works diligently with his staff, going above and beyond his duties. My girlfriend and I had an incredible night, with dinner at BICE Portofino Orlando being such a satisfying highlight. I suggest you find time to visit BICE to form your own opinion, which will undoubtedly want you coming back for more.
Great place to have dinner after a day at the park. Located at the Portofino Bay, the restaurant is very nice with a great atmosphere, a very good service and an amazing food. Strongly recommend it
I have eaten in many Italian restaurants in Florida over the years and Bice was the best. We were 7 people and enjoyed every appetizer and main and dessert thoroughly The wine list was excellent and the service impeccable I can particularly recommend the delicious and varied antipasto platter and the 30 day aged veal chop. This is in the beautiful Loews portifino bay hotel which added to the experience If you are looking for fine dining at a price not too much more than the overpriced chain places in the area Bice is the place
This is probably the best restaurant at universal. It has excellent personalized service. Very attentive and friendly. The food is far beyond the ordinary. We had various plates and left very satisfied. The ambiance is sophisticated. Being in a resort some were dressed up but most had shorts. Expensive but certainly worth it. We recommend for families with older kids or anyone wanting an experience
We have been to this restaurant before and enjoyed it, today was no exception. If I had to have a criticism it’s that the dress code is a bit slack now! The food was lovely and not too badly priced. The server was accommodating but seemed to be aloof. But on the whole it was a lovely evening. If you visit Orlando it’s worth a visit .
Impeccable service and excellent food. What more could you ask for? Since we at dinner at Bice, we only paid $10 to valet ($5 + $5 tip). We just showed our dinner receipt. Go as you won’t be sorry. Better food and ambience than anywhere else.
Elegant but not stuffy, they know you are on vacation and did not bring a tux :) The wine list is long, the service white jacket, and the meal was delicious. Highly recommend the japanese breed wagu steak, fork tender! Sat at an outdoor terrace table, that overlooked the lake and plaza. Feel free to bring kids if sitting outside.
Simply delicious food with superior service from everyone in the restaurant. Most of the other guests that evening were well dressed adults only tables. I was there with one of my teenage sons (sadly we were under-dressed) and we were still treated like royalty. The food is not the horrible Italian-American versions offered in Disney. BICE is true Italian food. Traditionally, handmade with quality ingredients. My son has Celiac disease, and there were so many options. The staff is wonderful. The waiter, busboy, host and everyone knew exactly how to take care of him - keeping the food from being cross-contaminated, bringing him his own bread and olive oil without even asking if everything needed to be kept separate. He loved the risotto of the day as well as the prosciutto and melone appetizer. We will be back for more!
My wife and I recently stayed at the Lowes Portifino Bay Hotel for five days. As we visited the theme parks almost everyday, and used the dinning plan to eat in the parks, we were looking for a nice restaurant for an upscale dinner. We decided on BICE, which is on the Portifino Bay property. Reservations were recommended so we made one Open Table (my wife got 1000 points on her Open Table app for this reservation). We sat outside on the patio and had a perfect view of the lake. Our server was excellent. He could easily work at any upscale eatery in NYC. We ordered carpaccio for our appetizer. It was very tasty and more than enough to split between the two of us. For our entrees, my wife ordered the rack of lamb and I ordered the porterhouse steak. Both dishes were cooked exactly as we requested and the food tasted great. Along with our food we ordered a bottle of wine. Both of us were very satisfied with our meals and service. The dress code for BICE is supposed to be resort casual. We did not dress overly fancy, my wife wore a nice summer dress and I wore docker slacks and a collared shirt. Nothing too fancy. Some of the people that visited the restaurant while we were there wore sandals, shorts and sleveless shirts, so it appears the restaurant is flexible about their dress code. BICE is not cheap. The most inexpensive bottle of wine was $50. My Porterhouse Steak was on the Dinner Special list and cost $64 - it was 21 or 24 ounces. With a bottle of wine, appetizer, two entrees, desert and the tip, the total bill was approximately $275. Thats about what we would spend where we live at Morton's Steakhouse. We had a nice relaxing dinner, great food, a great view and we throroughly enjoyed our experience. We hope you have the same experience.
Amazing experience, fantastic food, impeccable service. We had risotto, gnocchi, veal, all amazing! Opera singers were performing on the balcony across the way, bliss! Can't wait to go back! Worth every penny, one of the highlights of our trip. Bice rocks!!!
A very nice alfresco Italian dinner with a good wine list, menu choice for the family overlooking the lake and Portofino look alike hotel.
Class, quality and prestigious. Great meal! Love portofino bay hotel.
Had dinner here to get a great glass of wine and food. Wine- great but very small selection. Food- Chili’s comes to mind. Ordered steak tartare and it was “chewy “ to say the least. Wagyu beef should not be chewy or gristly. My main was the pistachio crusted Salmon which was over cooked and flavorless. For the price, stay away! View...maybe... bar...great service.
Very nice view on the patio of the water. At first service seemed awkward and slow but quickly that corrected. Our server was very nice. He made some nice wine recommendations. The pasta was very good, cooked just right and delicious. Both the lamb and steak were good. Desserts were equally delicious. It was a very enjoyable evening. The kids menu had real food on it. This was much nicer than the typical kids menu of nuggets etc... $22 is pricey for a kids steak but it was a nice steak and he really enjoyed it. I think overall the food was a little overpriced (but its Universal Studios after all) and service took a little longer than ideal but this was a great dinner and we plan to come back next time we are at the park.
Great service and view. We enjoyed the meal. I tried two half portions and the caesar salad that was very good. The bread was great. The best of the three dishes was the Cappellaccio al brasato. I also recommend the martini.
Love this place!!! Had such a great night with my girlfriend. The food was amazing and the customer service was soooo good. Our server Alessio was such a nice and sweet person. Thank you so much for this great night !!!
We had dinner reservations, if you go try to get it on the balcony area. Amazing service, food and views.
BICE is the best kept secret at Loews Portofino resort. Although parking here is very expensive, the restaurant validates the parking, so it is free if you dine here. The grilled octopus was delicious. The Ossobuco (Veal shank) was spectacular. Overall a very pleasant meal with spectacular views of the harbor.
Inside the Portofino Resort area, easy stroll from your room. The menu tends to Italian, it should this is the theme of the hotel. Seafood selections were prepared to wife's satisfaction, eggplant dish was a variant of eggplant parmigiana it was divine. Wine selection was huge however I am not a wine person. The bar has a vast selection of spirits and beer.
