Nostalgia Food was good but not great
Old established French restaurant. You will feel as if the clock moved backwards. You can admire the menu from 1927 and its prices. The seafood chowder is the best and great to share. I can with my friend and we shared the ambience, food, and service. Loved it!
I've been going to this restaurants for decades. There are a lot of events here. I attend the CCBA event every month. It's an old style restaurant with a full bar. There's a fireplace at the bar. The trout is very good, as well as the short rib dish. I haven't tried the pasta dishes, but my friends have had them, and they looked excellent.
Staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. The servings are generous. Everyone in our group enough for lunch the next day.
Excellent food and great service!!
Old world French provincial charm and dignity without pretension. Excellent food and service. Relatively quiet.
Very good, girst time there in more than 20 years
My parents have been going here since the 1960's.... My family had a wonderful Father's Day dinner here Sunday. I looked at the menu back then and a New York steak was $2.95. Well it's not that price anymore, but the food, atmosphere and service are all excellent..!!
In business for over 60 years and every single thing they serve is delicious and the location is elegant and Charming
Aunt Marie told my mother about Taix 20 years ago. Always mentioned she should try it♡. I live no where near and today I just happened to be in the area. Such a friendly staff, and very accommodating. The staff made my experience feel like I was family. The decor is elegant and pristine although not at all pretentious. Please look up the ceiling is a must see. Our waiter Joel came here to work in 1983. He said his heart is in this place. He still has a love for this place after all these years. Wow, Many staff have worked here 25+years. Thats a testimony to the establishment and owners. Well my mother and I always share so we started with Charcuterie Plate, delectable with two types salami, liver pate which so flavorful, pickled vegetables, tomato and crusty bread. A perfect way to start the nibbles. Iceberg wedge with blue cheese dressing was cold and refreshing. A glass if Merlo to take it all in. The hostess was lovely and bought us a sample of the navy bean soup. I expected a heavy rich thick soup on the contrary it was light broth and full of flavor. Tasty. Taix is a beautiful place with beautiful people. Lots if different rooms, a wine room, a lounge, three dining areas. I can picture many wonderful celebrations here. I will be back. Like my Aunt Marie said you should try it♡
Nice and food was good ,service very good too
Elegant dining location
This is my sister's favorite French restaurant, so she brought me here on June 2nd, for my 71st belated 🎂 which was actually on Valentine's Day!! But, let me tell you, this place was worth the wait. The ambiance was very nice, but the Customer Service was impeccable!! I loved the food here; from the awesome smell and taste of the sourdough bread, to the delicious dessert. My New York steak was incredible; very tender and atop, was a mouth watering sauce that was so yummy!! For dessert, we shared the Creme Brulee that was really good. They're custard filling was probably the best and smoothest I've ever enjoyed and I've had quite afew of them!! I would definitely come back, when I could afford it, 😊 but for those of you who can; Bon'appett!!
Perfect ambiance. Great food. Had a wonderful time.
