Had the spicy fermented pork, pork bao, and a bowl of pho. It was so good. Definitely worth a try. Supporting local businesses!
Loved their neat fusion menu. Service was quick.
Tasty fish banh mi! Really fresh and cooked to perfection. I like the golden milk tea I tried too with just a bit of sweetness.
Yummy bahn mi! More modern types of toppings
Good food the Bao is to die for just as the rice.
Best lemongrass beef bun.
Great food. Great service.
Turmeric fish plate was great.
Ordered through Lunch Drop and my lunch arrived as ordered - which is always good. I tried the Lemongrass Beef Banh Mi. This Banh Mi is huge!!! There is a lot of flavor and it all compliments each other. The order came with "cottage fries" which is basically tater tots - or tater rounds as they are flatter than rounds. There is also a side sauce to use for the fries which is pleasant. I am pretty sure the dipping sauce is a bit more than spicy mayo. Personally for me, I would have preferred just the sandwich and the option to add the cottage fries. The Banh Mi is plenty of food and I really didn't need anything else. There is nothing wrong with the Cottage Fries - they were good but being delivered - I try to avoid fried foods as they tend to cool down and loose that fry crunch. All in all I rather enjoyed my lunch and would order from them again. I got a lot of nosy co-workers asking me where I got my lunch from because of all the wonderful aromas emanating from my desk. There was no way I was going to share.....
Food was absolutely fantastic. Will definitely be back!!
Fairly priced and delicious. I’ve had the beef pho and pork rice box and I look forward to trying more items!
Delicious neighborhood spot for Vietnamese food! The Lemongrass Beef Rice with the included vegetables creates a flavorful, satisfying lunch.
I did not expect to eat the food I ate here. We ended up going to Heo Eatery when the place we were going to was closed. The food was fantastic and I felt like I was eating healthy (but probably not). I will definitely return but parking could potentially be an issue and spaces are limited.
Danngggggg this place was so cute. The person at the register was super friendly and patient, quickly explaining everything clearly and concisely for us, with a dash of humor. I appreciate the simple, easy-to-understand menu and the vegetarian options. The decor was cute and minimal, with a really nice informal, relaxed vibe. We got the tofu and turmeric fish rice dishes. The food came out super fast! The highlight for me was the roasted veggies, consisting of nicely browned carrots, squash, broccoli, and beets. I’m still drooling over the roasted broccoli! It was crunchy and savory, and not at all over-cooked or mushy (the way many other restaurants do it). I also really enjoyed the brown rice, which was cooked to perfection - so fluffy and flavorful, with just the right amount of salt. The other side dish was a gently pickled crunchy salad of cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, and jalapeño. This salad was decent, a tad spicy, and it could maybe use a bit more fermentation or interesting spices to give it a more memorable flavor and kick. The only downside was the fried tofu, which was chewy and kind of tough (not crunchy), drenched in a sauce/marinade that tasted a bit generic. It was almost like they fried the tofu, then simply dipped it in soy sauce. It was edible and basically enjoyable, but I think they could concoct a more interesting and zesty sauce for their tofu, and figure out a way to make the tofu retain some crunchiness. But overall, I really enjoyed all the flavors and the price ($10 per dish) was about right, considering their very generous portions. We left feeling super full for hours, but without that heavy/gross feeling. We’ll definitely be returning here!
Heo is an interesting take on Vietnamese cuisine, to using its flavors on more of a northern palette. I've had the whole menu (it's small and focused) and can attest that everything is good! Probably my favorite thing to get is the turmeric fish rice box (note to the owner: the cook on 7/28/19 knocked it outta the park, much bolder flavors than usual!) Chicken bao is delicious and my partner really digs the lemongrass beef banh mi (sub the tater tots for roasted veggies for a small upcharge). It's all clean and well-cooked, which is why I come here so often. The space itself is also clean and cheerful, low-key and not pretentious. It's all about the food! Make sure to try the $1 froyo 🍦
Excellent spot for tasty Vietnamese food. Visited at eight, it was not full. The service here is better than most. Mood here reminds me of San Diego's scene.
Vietnamese food and the feeling at this place is excellent. Great place to meet and catch up with friends. I will be bringing friends next time. Bring your hunger - portions are filling.
What a special little treat this is! To begin, we were greeted with a wonderful gentleman who kindly walked us through the entire menu, guiding us through each delectable delight with grace. After our tour he swiftly took our order of 7 with the care and ease of a party of two. The whole time he cared for us as if he owned, Heo Eatery, and demonstrated pride in his work, the food we were about to enjoy. And enjoy we did! The food is delicious, light, and energizing! Tofu Vermicelli w/ Roasted Vegetables and Cottage fries for the table!! What a wonderful lunch! Check it out for yourself! You won't be disappointed. Bowl ~$10
I have been here four or five times now and it is consistently delicious.
Great banh mi!! Really quick service and great atmosphere
