Definitely will come back ! Great service, right choice of dishes, exotic & tasty flavors your palate will enjoy !
Loved the atmosphere and food. Service was nice and friendly. No complaints, definitely will go back.
We had been travelling all day having left Arcata in the morning, and wanted a meal before driving on to our hotel in San Francisco. We stopped off in San Rafael on a street which our sat-nav indicated had several eating places. We found the Taj and the menu looked good - and then we were shown the wonderful buffet! It was excellent with many choices which we thoroughly enjoyed trying - and it was really good value. The restaurant was nicely laid out with good decor and a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful too. All together it was a very good experience.
I've been there a few times for the lunch buffet. They have a wide variety of selections. Terrific for only $10.00 or so.
Although they are open for lunch and dinners the lunch is the delicious bargain. For a fixed very reasonable price you can sample a buffet of many of their dinner entrees at a fraction of the dinner cost. Lunch is usually crowded for the very reason of it's many samples. I love their fish pagoras as well as all of the vegetarian dishes. They have meat and fish preparations as well as many veggie dishes. The mango sorbet at the end is also a lovely conclusion to the meal. I don't know if in India they have a special "enjoy your meal" saying in Hindi but I will say have a happy tummy!
Me Encanta comer ahí la comida es deliciosa siempre espero la oportunidad para visitar ese restaurante el servicio es excelente Sin duda el mejor restaurant de comida India
If you like Indian food you can't go wrong at Taj of Marin. They provide a very extensive buffet for lunch and dinner . I find lunch is best for everything is very fresh and just made. The cost is around $10 per person. You cannot order a la carte. The food is very authentic and quite varied. Both North and South Indian cuisine. They even have gluten-free naan.
If you're craving Indian food, you must try Taj of Marin on 4th Street in San Rafael. Their lunch buffet, at $10.95, is a superb value (same offered at dinner, $16.95). The selections were plentiful, all beautifully displayed and constantly tended. Everything from salads to veggie dishes, potatoes to rice, tandoori chicken, fish, lamb, Indian pickles, chutneys, breads, soup, rice pudding and Masala chai tea. The tandoori chicken was sublime. Loved the Indian mashed potatoes, the chef's vegetables, the assorted pickles. Finish with creamy, cool rice pudding and hot Masala chai tea. Service was great. Warm Indian bread and ice cold water served at your table. Lovely, comfortable, clean place with cheerful yellow walls and tasteful decor. Highly recommend.
Spent the morning bird watching at Point Reyes Station. On the way back to my hotel, I had a taste for Quiznos. Then my taste swung to Indian food. I GPS'd and found a few choices in San Rafael. I worked up an appetite, so a buffet was perfect. They have a great vegetarian and gluten free selections to you choose from. The price point was in the low teens.
Tasty food, pleasant atmosphere. We enjoyed out Christmas Dinner at Taj!
Excellent buffet selection! The flavors were perfect. Everything is clearly marked if it is vegan or gluten-free. The chai was very delicious with proper brown sugar available. There was even live music! I'll be back.
Highly recommend! Food tastes homemade can't beat that.
I went with a large group to the Taj of Marin in San Rafael. Whenever i hear the word "buffet" I am likely to think of low quality food. his was definitely NOT the case with the Taj. Service was prompt, friendly and with our huge group of 25 they were very accommodating. While Indian Food is not one of my favorite foods, I must say there were many of the dishes I enjoyed. The Hot Chair Tea, included with the meal, the warm Naan bread was delightful. Many vegetarian dishes were available. I loved the vegetable Prokura, Chicken Maharaja, Rice Pudding, Roasted Cauliflower. There was Mango ice-cream, but I was too full. Many rice dishes are available as well as soups. Can't beat the price of $10.95!
very good food!. one of the best if not the best indian restaurant i have ever been to. a wide variety of choices
I usually look around for places to eat at for veggie days...and this is so far the best place to be at. Not only its delicious but i love how it has so many choices.
$10.95 buffet with a good selection of dishes. Lots of gluten-free dishes including gluten-free naan bread. Tasty curries and classic dishes such as idli and sambar. Take out also available.
I ate dinner and a buffet lunch at Taj, and the food is great and very reasonably prices. Chai is included in the buffet price, as well as masala dosa fixings and several desserts. The service was quick, and I will go there again.
Good Indian Buffet lunch with plenty of vegetarian selection and fresh bake bread. Not too spicy and good services.
It's a nice small Indian restaurant. Starters are good. Overall nice place to have family meal. Price is reasonable. Ambiance is average. If you want to test Indian food once in month in Marin county then this is the place.
I eat gluten free. My husband doesn't. We both found the food delicious! I so wish you would open a restaurant like this in the Denver area!!!! We were on vacation and just got lucky to find your restaurant!
