I brought my son's car here over the week end with an issue that I thought may be the transmission. The car shook a lot and was sluggish while accelerating. The shop was pretty busy but they were still able to take the car in to look at it. Donnie took the car for a test drive and when he came back he felt it may be a brake issue causing the problems. I left the car there so he could further diagnose the problem and he found out that the issue was a clogged brake line. From the way the car was acting I would never have thought it would be a brake line causing those issues. They replaced the line and had the car back on the road the same day. Donnie even went above and beyond and called me the following Monday to check on how the car was doing. He wanted to make sure that the car was safe for the road. I would highly recommend this shop for your auto repair needs.
Good work done here! Trustworthy family owned business!
I was told about Tharp's by a long time, close, friend. He spoke very highly of them all the time. He told me stories about their customer service and how he was treated. I was out with my buddy one day when he had an emergency tire issue on his work truck. Tharp's said bring it in so they could assess the situation. They got him in right away. I tagged along and was immediately impressed by the professional service and I got to see it for myself. Well a couple of months later, the time came when my car needed some major repairs. Full disclosure, I started the project myself but got to a point where the scope of work was beyond the tools I possessed, and I have a lot of tools. My car sat for over a month in the garage. Mr. Steve said get the car to him and he'll have the guys take a look. I packed up the parts and slapped it together enough to have my insurance provide a free tow. Got the car dropped off about midday. I meant to tell Mr Steve there was no hurry, but he said his dedicated employees stayed late and got it done after closing. I did leave them one hell of a mess to fix (understatement). They kept it overnight to check for leaks and I got a call bright and early the next day saying it was done. In case you're curious, I needed rear axle bearings on a 2003 Panther platform. The second time I needed this repair in 5 years. I wanted it done right. I love Mr Steve's no-nonsense, straight shootin' demeanor. There is no question about anything. I also love that they are relatively close to my home. That's a coincidence and not really in their control but another bonus for me. My car drives great. It was strange being in it again after not driving for so long. A motorcycle and afternoon thunderstorms are not a great combination. I'm scheduled to go back in about 2 weeks or so after I put some miles on it so they can double check everything.
Great and prompt professional service. Highly recommended and my family keeps coming back with 4 cars between us.
Steve is honest and does quality work at a very reasonable price! Thank you for fixing my son's AC so affordably. We are new to Palm Bay and will never go anywhere else for our car repairs.
Great service totally awesome place for your vehicles really great fair people
Quick and friendly service
GOOD SERVICE GOOD PRICE
I felt like I actually went to a place that had experienced mechanics ! Super friendly family owned business that gets the job done. Steve was so helpful, got me in for same day service and what I thought was a simple mount fix turned out to be a cv axle which I was grateful to get fixed the same day! I was impressed with the amount of experience everyone has and the price was great. Carmelo was very nice and courteous. Being told by your mechanic that’s he’s worked there for 20 years was very reassuring. Definitely recommend Tharps !
Great service and very knowledgeable staff
I drove from Philly down here to FL and needed a few things done and Tharp's was suggested by an Autozone employee from up the road. Upon entering I noticed that Steve (who I later found out is the owner) was on a phone call and even though he curses like a sailor I could tell he was one of the most honest people I've ever encountered. Reading the poor reviews on here makes me think that the customers didn't fully listen or don't know that older cars will always need to be taken care of. One repair usually leads to another and that's the price of not having a car note. My time there was brief, but filled with a life changing conversation with Steve. The service was quick and fair. Thank you Tharp's.
Just like Scott, I too have a older Ford F150, 2003, same scenario, went in for oil change & fluid check. Quickly Steve came to me with diagnosis, not good, ugh. Well after my "shock & awe" discussion over the price, I had one question, are there any Senior Citizen promo's? Steve came back with a 15% code that saved me a bit. At that point I had to trust him, I knew there were issues but I did not want to see it, so I agreed to the work (bye bye income tax, lol). Anyway truck had to stay overnight for issues, I picked it up the next day & Steve told me to do him a favor, get this....Bring it back Thursday or Friday just for a check up to make sure whatever he did to it was solid. At that point I was so impressed, check your work? In this world, all the times my truck was serviced no one ever wanted to check it again. Tharp's is a well oiled machine, they move the cars in out, fast. At this point not sure how long I will own my truck but for right now, it feels like a new truck, I even got her washed today. Great job Guy's!
After being disappointed in a few other shops around Palm Bay, I decided to give Tharps a shot based on reviews and recommendations of others. I brought in my 99 F150 for basic maintenance (oil change, filter, etc) but also for a full inspection because I was having trouble isolating an issue in the front end. Steve and his team came back with the prognosis and it wasn't good. Front brakes/rotors, tires, alignment, and UCA/suspension related items needed to be replaced. Long story short: Steve worked with me to reach a fair price for the parts and labor required, and while I wasn't expecting to drop the kind of money I did that day, I'm glad I did. My truck feels like a completely different vehicle now. They aren't the cheapest shop around, but you get what you pay for. Thanks for being a straight-forward operation, Steve and Co. I'll be happy to do business with you guys in the future.
We had an emergency they got the part in the next day and got us back on the road its a family run bussiness and they are honest and up front Higjly recomens them
Very honest and helpful. They did their best to work with me and made it a less stressful situation than other places i've been in the past.
Great place good people..thanks for the help.
Got what I asked for. Paid for what I got. Owner/manager was knowledgeable and honest and didn't sell me unneeded tranny/AC service when I was worried about some obd codes and the air not blowing cold as quickly as it was before. Turns out I've never had this van in 90 degree heat and she's doing exactly what she should. I'd trust this place for a good job on a new tranny when it's time because they didn't replace the part I was worried about unnecessarily.
Great same day service making our car safe again. Thank You
I had a flat tire on my Firestone AT's going to pick up a boat in Orlando, rear tire was going flat, stopped at Shell off the exit, their air pump was out of order. Called Firestone , they said they had a sister store within 1000 feet of the exit. Drove in to Tharp's, they found a hole in tire and had it patched in minutes and I was on my way. Kerry was very cordial and I greatly appreciated the fast service. Thanks!!!
