Use roux in gumbo and NO tomatoes in EVERYTHING including gumbo, red beans and rice and dirty rice. GOOD EXPERIENCE over all. Great service. Look forward to visiting again.
Oh my yumminess!!! I haven't had blue crab anything since I lived in Florida and that was in 1993! This place has got one helluva delicious blue crab melt sandwich!! If you get the chance to try it, do it, you will not be disappointed! I can't wait to try anything and everything else on their menu.
The service here is always excellent and the food is quick and delicious. The servers are courteous and accurate with your order and the tables and seating is always clean.
Very unique experience. The staff was amazing. The food was very good and creative. I recommend others to come try this place out.

Delicious seafood. I had lasanga. My husband enjoyed his steak medallions. Live music and fun, NOLA atmosphere and decor.
The kitchen sink boil was amazing. Nothing was over cooked.

... and the food has gotten markedly better since my wife & I first visited several years ago. This time I dined "alone" with a restaurant full of other customers, including a steady crowd of folks waiting 20-30 minutes to get a table or booth. I was there in the mid-to-late afternoon on a Saturday, so I'm guessing Gulf Shores packs them in at all hours of any day. The atmosphere is hectic but upbeat, with a large wait staff slipping quickly between tightly spaced seating arrangements to keep up with greeting guests & taking orders & order deliveries & distributing checks with leftover containers. I didn't see my waiter Matt more than 3 or 4 brief times during my time in my booth, but he was cordial & efficient & I didn't have to linger more than a few minutes once I was finished eating. I ordered the Bourbon Street Combo, which came on a large oval dinner plate with a medium sized dish of homemade jambalaya with shrimp in the center, a large Andouille sausage sliced longways down the center & grilled & laid on a side serving of red beans & rice, a large & moist homemade crab cake with remoulade for dipping, a small dish of creamy coleslaw, and a small moist & flavorful cornbread muffin with butter. I have enough of several of those portions left over to enjoy a second small evening meal once my first round digests. Overall spiciness of the items wasn't anywhere near overwhelming, but there was a pleasant kick mixed in & add-your-own-kick options are available at each table. A special treat for the diners: The owner was visiting his guests at the tables, spending quite a bit of time to chat with each person/group. He's a very friendly & charming man, and obviously knows how to please his clientele with good food & personal attention. Overall, this is the best Cajun/Creole meal I've had in the St. Louis area and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying taste of the Gulf Coast.
Food and drinks were excellent. Enjoyed the live blues music
