Kind of a dark old school restaurant bar great drinks excellent steak dinner.the kind of place where the bartenders and the chefs been there for 20 30 years of awesome
Going here for over 20-years! GREAT!
Good steak. Great ambience. Wish it was a little more dark.
We had the NY Strip and the 5oz field mignon and they were amazing (the mashed potatoes and green beans were delicious as well). This place is one of the few locations open late and their food is delicious. The service is equally wonderful. A gem!
Food was excellent. Service not so much.
A wonderful intimate little bar and dining room, with great American food. It can get pretty loud sometimes, so be aware of where you sit. Prices are average for the city, but I've never had a bad meal there.
Warm low lighting. Attentive service. Good selection of quality meats. Well cooked!
Great prime rib and awesome service.
Great food and atmosphere...a real SF institution
Sit at the bar (it's like stepping into a time machine), ask Dan about his Santa con story after you eat.
Went there last night with several friends from out of town. The service was wonderful! The food was spectacular! And the servers hostess ( sorry I forgot her name) blonde with a quirky smile. Was beyond pleasant to our large late night noisy menagerie! To her and the staff; Thank You!!!
Just a wonderful place in the marina. Classic menu, friendly staff and a well executed meal. I go there every time I am in town.
San Francisco tradition excellent bar and the pepper steak is the best
Get the prime rib
I went here for my birthday late Friday night. A good friend recommended it...let me tell ya, it’s a cool, chill place with killer food & friendly staff. We ordered a lot of appetizers & the prime rib. I can’t wait to go back. I was one of four & we all were very happy. Definitely a must go to. We came after a show at the Fillmore & it’s the perfect late night dinner place.
Out Freaking Standing! Old school white tablecloth Americans fare
A favorite! One I crave frequently. Highly recommend the pork and carrot cake!
I meant to review earlier and forgot. My girlfriend and I visited SF back in Sept 2016. We stayed at the Coventry Inn on Lombard, so just 1 block and short walk away. I forget who recommended Brazen Head... either a local, or the Coventry Inn manager. Because otherwise we would've missed it. Not the typical SF touristy place at all. Just the opposite, which was exactly what we were looking for... It was totally laid back and cool. I think it was a Tuesday night, so not very crowded, but a steady stream of "regulars". We sat at the bar and it was a perfect blend of eclectic locals... and I mean that in a good way. Old, young, racially diverse, etc... not overly friendly and annoying, but open to meeting new people and engaging in lively conversation. We absolutely loved it and had a great time. And as others have said, we appreciated the "old school" feel of the place. Took the advice of the bar folks and had the New York Strip pepper steak, which was cooked perfectly at medium rare. I'd have to look at the menu to remember the appetizers, I just remember they were excellent as well. Our biggest regret was that we were only able to go once, as the next day we were taking off Monterey & Big Sur.
Locals bar and dining. I find it a more personable experience with classic menu.
Great food and a quiet and old school environment. The staff is top notch. The French onion soup is great.
