Cozy little restaurant. Has the atmosphere of an English pub. Low ceiling. Red lights. Was there on a Saturday 5.30 pm with no problem as to seating. But by 6 pm the restaurant had filled up fast for the (think) abt 10 tables. When I left at 7 pm there were people standing at the bar, waiting for a table. Had the filet mignon. Came perfectly cooked to order. Very tender cut. Nice mashed potatoes, green beans, portobello mushroom and a creamy spinach completed the dish. Simple but very well prepared. The bearnaise sauce (served separately) was luke warm as should be and was of good taste. Asked and got a second portion. The super friendly waitress Shelley recommended a locally brewed beer "villager" and that was very tasty. Completed the meal with a vanilla bean icecream with sauce anglaise. Yummy! Really good meal in a nice atmosphere and at a moderate price with a super friendly service. What more can one want? Highly recommended.
Another hidden gem. I was here a few months back on another visit & decided to take my group of 9 back, last minute on a Friday night. They accomadated us and we had a great time. Rainbow trout, prime rib was so good. I cant we wait to come back & take another group there. Open late, great service, amazing food!
A gem, and a wonderfully hidden gem.......steaks at midnight done perfectly right....great and wonderful staff....this is a local's hangout, and many industry late night dinner go to......
Career waiter. This is where I go to unwind. Ask for Christina, she's awesome. Grubby food, cool old school ambiance (great conversations). Unpretentious and up to speed. And if you wanna sit at the bar, you won't ever wanna leave. But don't tell anyone. I like it as it is.
Great food and drinks made up for slow service.
Based on previous reviews and it being across from our motel, we decided to try it and we were very glad we did. We came early and were fortunate to be seated immediately because people just kept coming. And I can understand why. It’s a delightful place to eat. Fine dining it’s not and they don’t pretend to be. The restaurant is small and tables are close but the folks working there are great and the food is very good. My guest had the prime rib( they’re noted for this)and I had the petite filet. Dessert was very nice and it was nice to be able to have a glass of port to end my meal. Wine by the glass is typical with the usual choices. All in all I would highly recommend this restaurant . Not easy to find. Of course that’s why you have Waze.
Uno dei pub più caratteristici, storici ed efficienti della città . Impossibile perderselo, grande scelta di birra e ottimi piatti “tipici†da pub!
Funky dim lit bar in cow hollow/marina. Perfect for a nightcap in a relaxed environment!
Staff is so friendly, atmosphere is way cozy, and the food was Amazing! Best Prime Rib that I've had in a very long time!
always pleased to go here.
The food was delicious period however if you want to visit this place as a party of 3 or more be ready to wait since the establishment is more catered to couples and and bar seats
Superb experience. Absolutely delicious food, especially the steaks. Decided to go here based on the reviews and definitely not disappointed. Loved the pub-like atmosphere. Waitress was wonderful. You must make this a “go to” for anyone visiting SF.
If you like meat...this is the place...
Easily one of my faves in SF. Super romantic.
Love the dim lighting, good for couples, small menu with fantastic American entrees. Happy with food and service. Nice bar to sit at too!
Throw back in time. Good food. Atmosphere adds to the experience.
Gracias!!!
Best place in town to get a meal after midnight and the bar is hopping too! The bartenders are always friendly even if you just order a glass of h2o!
